About

My coursework at the University of Georgia allows me to learn the foundation and fundamental skills of journalism. Law of Mass Communication and Media, News, and Consumers taught me the importance and ethics of the journalistic process. I learned interviewing, reporting, writing and multimedia skills during Reporting I while adhering to the AP Stylebook guidelines during each assignment. I interviewed multiple different leaders and citizens in my local community as a Reporting I student. Since participating in these courses, I learned the effectiveness of reading articles regarding local, national and global news. I choose to read The Wall Street Journal and The Associated Press daily due to the outlets' direct reporting styles and application of ethical standards in their publications of stories regarding current events.

The past semester as a journalism major and political science minor equipped me to report on politics proficiently. I feel better prepared to report in the political field. After participating in multiple courses related to journalism and political science, I strive to deliver stories regarding current events in a non-partisan, ethical manner in a constantly-evolving media landscape. I have a passion for political speech, and I want to deliver news to readers across the globe.

Media Favorites

I visit The Wall Street Journal, The Associated Press and The New York Times for daily news gathering. However, I am inspired creatively by consuming other non-news-related media. I enjoy reading books from authors such as Carole Radziwill and Taylor Jenkins Reid. I like to read an occasional editorial article such as "It Must Be Nice to Be a West Village Girl." Fictional movies and television set in various time settings allow me to expand my worldview without leaving my home, a great luxury that I find special in media.
